SEP has completed the development of a construction project for two residential buildings intended to provide social services to children with severe functional disabilities. The project client, in accordance with the assignment of the Ministry of Welfare, is VSIA “Šampētera nams”.
The goal of the project was to create a building project that could be implemented in various Latvian municipal territories, and which would provide social services to children with severe functional disabilities in a family environment.
During the design process, SEP engineers developed a standard project for one single-apartment building and one two-apartment building, where 4 people could live permanently in each apartment and 1-2 additional assistants could also stay in it on a daily basis. Taking into account the specific purpose of the building, SEP designers created a functional, comfortable building that met the specific needs of the users, while at the same time providing an aesthetic living environment. The building's volume and finish used techniques typical of the architecture of individual residential buildings to bring the environment closer to the feeling of a family environment.
The building project was created within the framework of the European Regional Development Fund measure “Establishment of a family-friendly service infrastructure for children with severe and very severe functional disabilities” under the supervision of the Ministry of Welfare, which is implemented by VSIA “Šampētera nams”. Within the framework of this project, a family-friendly service infrastructure will be created, which will promote independent living opportunities and improvement of the quality of life of children and young people.
