BIOMETHANE PRODUCTION FACILITY,

SEP has started developing the design for a biomethane production facility at AS Putnu fabrika Ķekava. The development of the Bauska biomethane production facility involves a solution in which the biomass (chicken manure) used undergoes anaerobic digestion as part of the processing, resulting in the release of biogas. After its initial treatment, the biogas is then sent to the treatment plant and turned into biomethane, which is then fed into the GASO system. The biomethane production facility will comprise a total of 14 structures and process equipment, enabling the feeding and dosing of the input material, the fermentation and biogas purification processes, making it possible for the biomethane plant to make biomethane in an efficient and environmentally friendly manner. The biomethane plant will have a capacity of some 8 MWh. Construction is scheduled to start in 2024.
